About

I’m Charles Hooper, a landscape designer based in East Sussex, UK with a base in Ste Maxime, France. I have a passion for transforming outdoor spaces, and 20+ years experience in creating beautiful, functional, and sustainable gardens and landscapes.

My journey in landscape design began following a twenty-year career as a TV Commercials Producer and after graduating from Greenwich University with a 1st class honours degree in Garden Design in 2004. I have a passion for nature and a keen eye for detail. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working on a variety of projects, from intimate garden makeovers to large-scale commercial landscapes both in the UK and around the globe. My goal is to craft outdoor spaces that not only enhance the beauty of their surroundings, but also provide a haven for relaxation and enjoyment.

When I’m not designing gardens, you can find me working in our own Forest Garden (a 'Garden of Eden' based on the principles of permaculture), green woodworking, or doing 'wild pottery' in my woodland workshop. I am very fortunate to be completely immersed in nature, and I take much inspiration from my idyllic surroundings in Sussex AONB.
